Welcome to our FAQ page! At Aube Photography, we want to make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Below are some of the most common questions from parents booking a newborn photography session in Essex.

When is the best time to book a newborn photography session?

We recommend booking your newborn photoshoot during your pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan. Newborn sessions are best scheduled when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old, when they’re most sleepy and curled up.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

No worries! We book your session based on your due date and remain flexible around your baby’s arrival. We’ll confirm a final date once your little one is here.

What happens during a newborn photoshoot?

A typical session lasts around 2 to 3 hours in a calm and cosy studio setting. We take plenty of breaks for feeding, cuddles, and settling, following your baby’s pace. Safety and comfort are always our top priorities.

Where are you based?

Our studio is based near Rayleigh, Essex, with easy access from Southend, Basildon, Chelmsford, and surrounding areas. Free on-site parking is available.

How much does a newborn session cost?

Can parents and siblings be included?

Absolutely! We encourage family portraits as part of your session at no extra cost. It’s a beautiful way to capture those early bonding moments.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide all props, wraps, outfits, and backdrops. You're welcome to bring a special outfit or item you’d like included, but it’s not necessary.

How do you keep the studio clean and safe?

Your baby’s safety is our top priority. The studio is thoroughly cleaned before and after each session. All fabrics and props are washed with baby-safe products. We’re trained in safe newborn posing techniques.
